Different ways to apply this product:
Classic Kajal Look: L’oreal Paris Kajal Magique is good for traditional kajal look. Just use a decent amount of kajal on your lower water-line and you are good to go. Yan can use it on your upper water-line too, to create a more defined look of your eyes.
Complete Eyeliner Look: You can also give your eyes a precise look by using this product as an eyeliner. Apply L’oreal Paris Kajal Magique on your upper and lower water-line. Then, apply it on your upper eye-lid close to the lash line.
Smokey Look: Smokey eyes are perfect for an evening party. To create this look, Apply L’oreal Paris Kajal Magique on your upper and lower water-line. Roughly use this kajal on your upper eyelid and smudge it with your fingers or a brush. Then use matte black eyeshadow on your upper eyelid to make it smudge proof.
My experience with L’oreal Paris Kajal Magique:
Packaging: L’oreal Paris Kajal Magique comes in a very attractive packaging. The kajal comes in a black colored retractable pencil on to which the product’s name is printed with hot pink color in a glamorous way. Even the outer carton looks very appealing. Product highlights can be seen on the front side of carton whereas the back side covers all other factors like the product description, how to use it, manufacturing date, maximum retail price, batch number and expiry date.
Pigmentation: L’oreal claims that this kajal is made with new generation formula and mineral pigments to give intense color pay off. Though the product says it is supreme black kajal but my experience was not quite good. The pigmentation of this kajal is decent and not intense black. You have to rub it multiple times on your waterline to get the deep black color. Even the pigmentation of Elle 18 bold black kajal was very much good than this one. You get an intense black look with a single swipe.
The same thing happens when you apply it as an eyeliner on your upper eyelid. You have to rub it for a couple of times to get that intense color. The kajal pencil comes in a retractable form so there is no wastage while sharpening it.
Texture: The product is moderately creamy that is why you have to rub it for a couple of times on your waterline for the intense color pay-off. The good thing about this kajal pencil is that it does not break while application.
Staying Power: The product states that it lasts for up to 12 hours on your eyes but it is totally a false statement. The kajal stays intact in your eyes up to 4-5 hours after which it starts fading from inner and outer corners of the eye. After 6 hours it gets completely disappeared.
The staying power of the product also depends on other factors like how much your water-line is watery or how much amount of time you spend outdoors. If your water-line too watery and you spend most of your day outdoors, the staying power of the product decreases accordingly.
Smudge-proof: L’oreal Paris Kajal Magique is smudge-proof to an extent but not completely. After 4-5 hours it gets little smudged at the corners but not too much. It slowly fades from the eyes and does not make your eyes looking like a raccoon.
Water-proof: The kajal is definitely water-proof. I washed my face with plain water while it was on my water-line and it did not move a bit. But when I washed my face with face wash, it faded from the eyes a lot.
Product Affordability: Keeping in mind all the above-stated points, I think the product is little too pricey because all the key-points of this product can be found easily in Lakme Eyeconic Deep Black Kajal. Even if you want to pay less than Lakme Eyeconic Kajal, Elle 18 Bold Black Kajal is also a very good option keeping in mind that Elle 18 one gets smudged a little bit after 2-3 hours.
- Attractive packaging.
- Retractable pencil, so no wastage of product.
- Comfortable for contact-lens wearers.
- Ophthalmologically tested.
- Does not give raccoon-like eyes.
- Easily available at local shops and online websites.
- Not supreme black color.
- The pigmentation is quite decent but not too good. You have to swipe kajal at least 2-3 times to get the intense color pay-off.
- Staying power is not more than 6 hours.
- A little bit pricey.
L’oreal Paris Kajal Magique is good for everyday usage but it is a little hyped up because it comes from an international brand “L’oreal”. Keeping in mind its pros and cons, I think it is a little pricey. But all in all, I will rate it 3/5 for a decent kajal.
