Winters are coming and we all know that how much our skin becomes rough and dry during this time. That’s why our skin needs some extra moisturization for the radiant glow. Today I am going to discuss easy to make & moisturizing face packs to replenish lost moisture into your skin. Without further ado, let’s get started.

Gram flour and Milk cream

Gram flour acts as a very mild exfoliant which gently removes dead skin from our skin. When mixed with milk cream, this home-made face pack moisturizes our skin pretty well.

  • Mix 1 spoonful of gram flour (Besan) with 1/2 spoon of milk cream.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric and 2 spoons of rose water to it.
  • Turmeric helps in brightening and giving an even skin tone. Rose water also provides us with clear glowing skin.
  • Mix all the ingredients to make a smooth paste-like consistency.
  • Apply it all over your face and neck. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.
  • Use gentle circular motions to remove it from your face.

Banana and Honey

Banana and honey, both are specialized in giving adequate moisturization and even tone to your skin.

  • Mash half a banana to make a paste-like consistency. This much amount is adequate for your full face and neck.
  • When properly mashed, minute particles of banana also acts as a gentle exfoliant.
  • Add 1/2 spoon of honey and raw milk to it and mix it very well.
  • Apply it to your face and neck and let it sit for a good 20 minutes before washing.

Rice flour and Raw milk

Rice flour is the best anti-aging ingredient for our skin. When mixed with raw milk, it provides instant hydration to dry, flaky skin.

  • Take out 1 spoonful of rice flour in a bowl and add 2 spoons of raw milk to it.
  • You can also add half a spoon of honey to it for extra hydration.
  • Make paste-like consistency by mixing it very well.
  • After application, leave this face pack on your face for 15-20 minutes before washing it off.

Olive oil and Honey

Olive oil is good for treating fine lines on our face and gives the proper hydration that our skin needs.

  • For this face pack, take equal proportions of olive oil and honey in a bowl.
  • Even after mixing, I know this pack is too runny for the application. That’s why you need to apply it onto your skin with a cotton ball.
  • You can also make a paste-like consistency by adding a spoonful of wheat flour/ gram flour into it.
  • Leave it on your skin to dry for at least 15-20 minutes before washing.

Coconut milk and Corn Flour

Coconut milk with corn flour is a super-hydrating face mask for your dull and dreary winter skin.

  • To make this face pack, Take out 1 spoon of corn flour in a bowl.
  • Add 2 spoonful of coconut milk to it and mix it well.
  • Apply it on your full face and neck and leave it around 15 minutes.
  • While washing, use gentle circular motions to take it off.

17 Powerful Home Remedies You Must Try For Hair Growth (Part-2)

Home remedies are always effective and easily available. Such home remedies have no side-effects when topically applied on hair. In my previous post, I shared few of these remedies which are always a boon for our hair.

You can apply these home remedies on your man too if he is suffering from alopecia, commonly known as baldness.

Garlic is enriched with sulphur and selenium which are the structural parts of our hair. Loss of sulphur and selenium present in the keratin bonds of our hair makes them very weak and more prone to fall.

Remove the peel of 10-12 garlic cloves and slice them into small pieces. Boil these pieces of cloves with 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 1 tablespoon olive oil for few minutes. Strain the oil by leaving residue aside. Gently massage your hair with this oil and leave it overnight after application.

Vitamin E oil

Vitamin E oil helps in repairing damaged hair follicles and building new tissues. It also brings backs the lost shine and improves the elasticity of our hair making them strong from the core.

It is easily available as a pure oil and as a capsule at the drugstores. Mix half teaspoon of Vitamin E oil with 2 teaspoons of almond oil. Applying this oil on the scalp and hair, followed by a gentle massage afterwards improves the blood circulation. Hence, improving the hair growth cycle.

Curry Leaves

Topical application of curry leaves elevates the hair growth process to a great extent. They strengthen our hair from the roots with every usage.

For this remedy, you can blend some curry leaves and mix it in your favourite hair mask. Massaging your scalp with oil made from curry leaves also help our hairs to grow. To make this oil, boil 2 handfuls of dried curry leaves with 200 ml of coconut oil. Adding 30 ml of castor oil to this mixture intensifies the oil.

Using dried curry leaves while making oil keeps the oil safe from getting mould (fungus).


Hibiscus flowers nd leaves have always been known for its eloquent effects on our hair. It consists of Vitamin C, riboflavin, phosphorus and calcium to help our hair with the care it needs.

To make this home remedy, blend 3 hibiscus flowers and 5-6 hibiscus leaves to a smooth paste. Add 2-3 spoonfuls of curd to it according to your hair length. Apply this mixture onto your scalp along with hair and leave this on your hair for 30-45 minutes before going to wash.


Eggs are packed with proteins, vitamins and essential fatty acids which make it a power-pack ingredient for our hair.

Mix one egg white with 1 spoon of olive oil. Whip this combination until it forms a smooth paste. Apply this paste on your hair and leave it for 45-60 minutes to get effective results.

Coconut Milk

Another home remedy which is great for our hair is coconut milk. Being packed with Vitamin B, C, E and minerals like iron, sodium, selenium, magnesium, phosphorus and calcium makes it a miracle product for our hair.

For this quick remedy, you need to apply coconut milk mixed with honey and castor oil on all of your hair and leave it for 60 minutes. Coconut milk is easily available at grocery stores. But if you like, you can make it by your own.

Sesame Oil

Sesame oil is also known as “Til ka tel” in Hindi, and it is well-known for its efficacy on our hair. It is used as a base oil in most of the herbal or ayurvedic oils which prove its worthiness for our hair.

Gentle massage with sesame oil helps blood circulation at the scalp resulting in hair growth.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera is another herbal plant which is known for promoting hair growth, treating the itchy scalp, strengthening and adding shine to our hair. It contains keratin (the protein our hairs are made of) which helps in improving the elasticity of hairs, prevents breakage and results in long luscious hair.

Squeeze out the gel from aloevera plant and mix it with olive oil. Leaving this mixture on your hair for 45-60 minutes will give you the length, you always desired.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is rich in emollients like oleic acid, palmitic acid and squalene. Emollients are the lubricants having nourishing and softening properties. It is also packed with Vitamin E to repair and restore damaged hair.

Heat 2-3 teaspoons of olive oil in a pan according to your hair length. Oil must be slightly warm, not striking hot. Do a gentle massage with this oil and leave it overnight on your hair.

Green Tea

Green tea suffers minimal processing, hence contains anti-oxidants to a very high level. According to a study, a cup of green tea contains anti-oxidants four times an apple. Anti-oxidants helps in detoxifying the harmful toxins out of our hair and encourages hair growth if applied topically.

Use green tea rinse after hair wash and leave it on your hair for 5-10 minutes. Then rinse your hair with cold water.

Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed oil, also known as “Alsi ka tel” is highly packed with omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin B-complex, C, E and biotin. All of these nutrients are helpful in keeping our hair strong, preventing split ends and promoting hair growth.

Do a gentle massage with warm flaxseed oil and leave it overnight on your hair for effectiveness.

Almond Oil

Almond oil is one of those home remedies which everyone swears by. It is high in Vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids and magnesium to help our hair grow. It is bit pricey but worth every penny you pay for.

Onion Juice

Our hair is comprised of keratin bonds and sulphur acts as a cement to strengthen these keratin bonds. Onions being high in sulphur, nourish our hair.

For this quick remedy, apply onion juice onto the scalp with the help of cotton and leave it on your hair for 30-45 minutes. You can also mix some coconut oil to hydrate your hair. Onion juice dries out our hair. That’s why I recommend you to apply this juice only on your scalp.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is very much beneficial for hair thickening and hair growth. It is high in Ricinoleic acid (an essential amino acid required by our body) & Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids (which can easily penetrate through the pores).

You will need to mix one part of castor oil with two parts of olive or almond oil. Apply this oil mixture on your scalp and full-length of hair. Massaging afterwards gently with your fingertips allows your blood to circulate on the scalp.

Castor oil is very much thick in consistency. Applying it solely on our hair weighs them down which leads to hair fall. This is the reason behind mixing it with any other hair-friendly oil. Organic and Black castor oil are the purest forms of this oil.

Lemon Juice & Neem Leaves

If you are suffering from dandruff, lemon juice and neem leaves can cure it very effectively to give you healthy looking hair. Dead skin cells on the scalp cause dandruff and itching, block pores on the scalp and lead to hair loss.
