Biocare Whitening Sunscreen With SPF 45 Review

Biocare make their skin care products at an affordable price with an overwhelming range. The brand is trying to stand out in the Indian market as well as reaching their consumers through e-commerce websites and local shops at the same time.

They make face masks, face scrubs, foot scrubs, body gel, face gel, sunscreens and lot more products in a diverse variety. Two months back, My brother wanted to buy an affordable sunscreen. We went to a shop nearby our house for the purchase. The helper at the shop showed us Biocare Sunscreen in 2-3 varieties. We picked Biocare Whitening Sunscreen Cream With Spf 45 as it is a cream based product. Just after few uses, my brother gave it to me because it did not suit his skin. I am using it on myself at least from last 1 month to give you girls an in-depth review.

Price of the product: Rs. 170 for 200 gms.

Product Highlights:

  • Broad spectrum sunscreen.
  • Water resistance.
  • Non-greasy.

My experience with the product:

The packaging of Biocare Whitening Sunscreen is a normal flip-top packaging and not travel-friendly. The tube is not spill-proof and it gets very dirty around the opening. Every time I open the tube, the product starts to come out without even pressing the tube. This means you always get more than the required amount. For this reason, I squeezed out the sunscreen lotion in an empty container for daily usage.

The consistency of the sunscreen is creamy. The sunscreen is heavy on the skin and leaves a white cast post application. Though the sunscreen is made for oily to combination skin type but it does not blend well with oily skin. Because of its heavy texture, it clogs the facial pores which in turn produces more sebum and the face becomes very sweaty.

If you have normal to dry skin type, use it after proper moisturisation on the face. Otherwise, it will make your skin dry. Another thing, I found annoying about this sunscreen is that, if you apply more than the required amount. Then it becomes difficult to blend it on the skin.

The product is a broad-spectrum sunscreen and absolutely non-greasy. But it is not water-resistance. Because it starts to dissolve with water, as soon as the skin comes in contact with water.

I used it on my facial skin only in winters after applying a proper amount of moisturiser on the face (otherwise, it dries out my skin). Nowadays, it is spring season here in India. And I am applying it on my arms and legs. It works great on these body parts, as you are protecting them without spending much.

Sunscreen is definitely a tricky skin care product. Because every sunscreen acts differently on different skin types. So, if you are conscious about experimenting with new sunscreens. You can use it as a body sunscreen lotion as it is very cheap and affordable.

Pros:

  1. Affordable.
  2. Non-greasy.
  3. Broad spectrum.
  4. Good for de-tanning (As it makes tanned skin slightly fairer).
  5. Good to be used as a body sunscreen lotion.
  6. Suitable for dry to normal skin type.

Cons:

  1. Very heavy on the skin.
  2. Not suitable for oily skin people (as it clogs pores).
  3. Makes skin very sweaty post application (for oily skin type).
  4. Not water resistance.
  5. Not spill-proof.

Final Verdict:

Biocare Whitening Sunscreen With SPF 45 is a decent sunscreen lotion but only for normal to dry skin people. If you don’t want to splurge much on a sunscreen for arms and legs. It would be a good option for you.
