W2 Strawberry Moisturiser Review

W2 Strawberry Moisturiser Review

Moisturisers are the essential part of our routine. So here I am, again writing a review post on a moisturiser I recently bought and used on my skin for quite a few time.

The product I am going to review is, “W2 Strawberry Moisturiser“. I recently got introduced to this brand via an online e-commerce website. I was bit confused before buying this product since the brand was new to me.

Price of the product: Rs. 85 for 100 gms.

Also, read:

What the product claims:

Moisturiser with a natural whitener, oil balance. Strawberry helps to remove dark circles and wrinkles. Rich in Vitamin A,C,K, Mg. Natural Protection from UV rays.

Product Highlights:

  • Works on both oily and dry skin.
  • Skin regeneration action.
  • Maintains oil balance.
  • Contains antioxidants.
  • Astringent action.

My experience with the product

dscn3900It is autumn season here in north India and I want a moisturiser which would suit to me in this particular weather. Since the product claims that it is suitable for both dry and oily skin types. This is the reason I wanted to give it a try.

The texture of W2 Strawberry moisturiser is not too runny and not too creamy. Therefore, it actually is a suitable option for dry, oily, normal and combination skin types. But, if you have extremely oily or extremely dry skin then it would not be a suitable option for you.

dscn3902The product comes in a normal tube. The packaging seems pretty fine and travel-friendly too. The moisturiser has a very soothing fragrance of strawberry which I bet everyone would like.

The moisturiser claims to balance oil on your skin and activates skin’s regeneration process but I did not find anything true about this. There is nothing special about these claims and my skin felt as normal as after applying any other moisturiser.

The product may have antioxidants because it states to have strawberry extract in it. But I am not very sure about this.

Pros:

  1. Blends easily into skin.
  2. Pocket-friendly.
  3. Travel-friendly.
  4. Amazing Fragrance.
  5. Suitable for oily, dry, normal and combination skin types.
  6. A must try- out option for spring and autumn season.
  7. Doesn’t clog pores.

Cons:

  • Its claims are not true about oil balancing and skin’s regeneration process.

Will I repurchase it?

Overall, the product is good. The texture of moisturiser is blendable and non-oily. So, I would repurchase it and also recommend it to you in spring and autumn season. The moisturiser is definitely not for girls with extremely dry skin or extremely oily skin.

Lacto Calamine Sunscreen lotion

Lacto Calamine Daily Use Sunscreen SPF 30 PA++ Review

Hello Gracies!

Welcome back to my blog. Today I am going to share my personal views on Lacto Calamine’s Sunscreen with you. Lacto Calamine is a well-known brand in India and its most popular product is Lacto Calamine Daily Nourishing Lotion.

Lacto Calamine’s sunscreen lotion comes in two variants: one is for dry skin and the other is for oily skin types. The one I am going to review is for oily skin types.

Price of the Product: Rs. 199 for 50 ml.

What the product claims:

Daily use sunscreen with Lemon Extract & Vitamin E has been specifically formulated with oil control benefits to provide you a non-greasy matte look. SPF 30 PA++ provides a complete protection against broad spectrum UVA & UVB rays.

Daily use gives you healthy and radiant skin.

Product Highlights:

  • Sweat free.
  • Matte effect.
  • Water resistant.
  • Paraben free.
  • Lemon Extract helps in oil control.
  • Vitamin E helps reduce dark spots, pigmentation and is known to prevent premature aging.
  • SPF 30 PA++ helps protect skin from broad spectrum UVA & UVB rays.

My experience with the product:

dscn3889Actually, I got the 30 ml tube of this sunscreen lotion free with the 60 ml bottle of Lacto calamine’s lotion. Packaging wise the tube is sturdy and travel-friendly. The product is lightly fragranced which will not irritate anyone.

Only a small amount of this lotion is needed for your entire face. It spreads very easily on the face. You need to blend it properly with your fingers because it does leave a white cast on your face.

SPF and PA content of this sunscreen lotion is sufficient to prevent our skin from harmful UVA & UVB rays. The product is enriched with lemon extracts and Vitamin E.

dscn3894The product actually is not helpful in controlling oil production on the face as it claims to be. The sunscreen lotion is not ideal to be used in summers. I would recommend it to be used in autumn or spring season. Also, it did not help me in reducing any kind of spot on my face.

The product also claims to be sweat-free, matte effect, water-resistant and paraben-free. But actually, the product is not sweat-free. Though it does give matte-effect on the face and is also water-resistant & paraben-free.

Pros:

  1. Requires only a small amount.
  2. Blends easily.
  3. Good SPF and PA coverage.
  4. Moisturises Well.
  5. Gives matte-effect.
  6. Paraben-free.
  7. Water-resistant.
  8. Travel-friendly.

Cons:

  1. Leaves white cast on the face.
  2. Not Sweat-free.
  3. Overly-priced.
  4. Does not control oil production.
  5. Does not reduce dark spots, pigmentation marks or any aging signs.
  6. Not good for oily skin.
  7. Bit greasy.

Will I repurchase it?

Definitely a complete no-no. Though this sunscreen lotion is meant for oily skin but it did not suit to my skin in summers. That’s why I am using it now in autumn season. Also, I can buy any other good sunscreen lotion within the same price and have a decent quantity.

The lipstick has a very nice creamy texture. It glides on lips like magic. My lips do not feel dry after applying it.

The Elle 18 color boost lipstick is ideal for everyday wear. This range comes in a total of 10 shades which are good for young girls and newbies for makeup.

Though the lipstick claims to have a staying power of 6 hours but it starts to set in the creases of lips after a period of 3 hours. You need to reapply it after every 3 hours. This is one and the only thing I don’t like about this lipstick.

VLCC Skin Defence Lavang Moisturiser Product Review

Hello Gracies!

I am back with another review. Today, I am going to do a review on VLCC Skin Defence Lavang Moisturiser. This blog post will give you a brief idea about the product.

Honestly speaking, I switched to this product because Neutrogena oil-free moisturiser was out of stock. So, I thought I should give this lotion a try. I am using this moisturiser from last 15 days due to my oily skin and excess humidity in monsoon.

You can also read a review on Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser With SPF 15.

Now, let’s get straight to the review.

Price of the product: Rs. 140 for 100 ml

What the product claims:

The moisturiser enriched with Clove(Lavang) and extracts of Neem & Euphorbia helps in controlling acne and excess sebum secretion, leaving the skin non-greasy, smooth and radiant.

Method of use: After cleansing the face & neck, apply with gentle upward strokes. Use alone or under make-up.

Ingredients: Ananas sativus (Pineapple extract) 4%, Gandhak (Sulphur powder) 3%, Melia Azadirachta (Margosa-neem) extract 2%, Euphorbia thymifolia (Chhoti dudhi) extract 1.5%, Syzigium aromaticum (Clove-Lavang oil) 1%, Lotion Base QS.

My experience with this product:

DSCN3639-newThe packaging of moisturiser is very attractive. Colour combination of white and orange used for the packaging seems very appealing.

The product comes with a tight flip-top which makes it easy to carry in your handbag. The moisturiser is white in colour.

The product is specially made for normal to oily skin type and it met my requirements as stated. It has a non-creamy and running consistency which is great for oily skin type.

After applying this moisturiser on the face, it gets absorbed by skin within 15-20 seconds which is surely a plus point for this product.

It gives a non-greasy look on the face which I always demand from my moisturiser. One more thing which I liked about this product is that my pores did not feel blocked after using it.

DSCN3651-newOne particular thing I disliked about this product is its smell. This moisturiser literally smells like cloves which no-one would like in their moisturiser.

Whenever I apply this moisturiser, it always gives a cooling sensation on the face. Though I liked this cooling sensation on the entire face but it stings a little around my eyes. That is why I cannot use this product around eyes.

I won’t recommend this moisturiser to people with sensitive or dry skin because this cooling sensation may sting on their face.

People with acne-prone skin should use this moisturiser with VLCC Punarnava astringent to control acne.

Pros:

  1. Gives non-greasy look.
  2. Absorbs into skin immediately.
  3. Travel-friendly.
  4. Affordable.
  5. Good moisturiser for oily skin type.
  6. Decent quantity of moisturiser related to the price.
  7. Herbal composition.
  8. Controls excess sebum secretion.

Cons:

  1. Smells like cloves.
  2. Gives cooling sensation on the face. For normal to oily skin types, it will be ok. But it may sting on a sensitive or dry skin.

Will I repurchase it?

Overall, the product is definitely a good deal. You should not overlook its cons before buying it.

My experience with the product:

Concentrator: This hair dryer comes with a detachable concentrator. If you desire only to dry your hair, you can detach this part making your hair drying session really quick. The concentrator of this hair dryer styles hair very effectively by focussing on a particular section of hair. You can have wavy and curly hairstyles very easily in a short span of time.

The shine of hair: The hair dryer always leaves my hair glossy and shiny after every usage. Hair does not look frizzy after drying or styling using this hair dryer.

Power: The hair dryer uses 220-240 V, 50/60 Hz, 1100 W of power which is sufficient for drying medium or longer hair. It takes me only 10-15 minutes to completely dry my hair with no fuss at all.

Cool/Heat setting: The hair dryer comes with a unique feature of cool/heat setting. I love this feature of the equipment. You can dry your hair using cool setting and not damaging your hair at the same time. When you switch this hair dryer to cool setting, the equipment releases 95% of cool air and only 5% of warm air. So, you can do worry-free drying/styling in no extra time.

Electrical safety: The equipment is tested for electrical safety. It has automatic overheat cut out feature. Whenever I use this hair dryer continuously for longer durations, it automatically cut out the power due to overheat. So, I can safely style my hair at home and not burn them.

Yes, surely. Because you will get a lot of options at such an affordable price. If you buy it online you will get this dryer at a fair discount.

VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion With SPF 30 & PA+++ Review

Hello Gracies!

Sunscreens must be a vital part of our day-to-day life. Sunscreen lotions are one of my favourites among all the skincare products. I like trying new sunscreens of various brands every 3-4 months.

Everyone knows the need of a sunscreen lotion in our skincare regime. This time, I am going to review a product of well-known brand “VLCC” . VLCC is famous for their skincare products all around the globe. The brand has a wide variety of products to choose from. Almost all the products of this brand prove to be effective according to their claims.

So, without wasting any minute let’s hop on to the review.

Price of the product: Rs. 315 for 100 gms.

What the product claims:

VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion is a broad-spectrum sunscreen, with SPF 30 and PA+++, which provides long duration sun protection from both UVA and UVB rays. Enriched with pineapple extract, it hydrates the skin leaving it soft and supple. Its non-sticky formula gets absorbed quickly and provides a matte finish.

Directions: Apply liberally and evenly on the face and neck, 15-20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply frequently for long duration sun exposure.

Ingredients: Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, White Sandalwood Extract, Turmeric Extract, Germinated Wheat Oil, Pineapple Extract, Zinc Oxide, Aloe Vera Extract, Carrot Seed Oil, Cucumber Extract, Lotion Base Q.S.

My experience with this product:

DSCN3627I bought VLCC Matte Look Sunscreen Lotion 3 months back because of my oily skin type in summers. I bought it from an online shopping site because of a fair discount on the product :).

The sunscreen lotion is available in higher SPF too. But I don’t like buying a sunscreen lotion more than SPF 30. Because more the SPF protection a sunscreen lotion will have, more it will leave a white cast on your face and also you need to reapply your sunscreen after every 2-3 hours regardless of the higher SPF in your sunscreen lotion.

The product comes in a tube with a flip top and the packaging of the tube is very attractive. You will love the packaging of this product in the first go. The flip top is very tight which confirms it a travel-friendly product.

One thing that amazed me of this product is its ingredient list. Its has a lot of natural extracts which ensures more benefits to your skin.

DSCN3629The texture of the lotion is very creamy and smooth. It does give matte finish on your face according to its claim. Because of its mattifying nature, it leaves a little bit of white cast on your face which vanishes after some time.

The sunscreen lotion is a tinted one which also hides a little bit of imperfections of your face. What can you expect more of a sunscreen? (Yayyy!)

The product definitely claims to be for all skin types. But according to my recommendation, people with dry and normal skin types should not opt this product. Because it makes your face little bit of dry and non-oily after application which is great for oily skin.

I am using the product since this summer and currently it is monsoon right here in India. This sunscreen lotion did a great job in both these seasons. Only a pea-sized amount is what it takes for full face and neck.

I am continuously using this product 2 times a day from last 3 months and still a lot of sunscreen lotion is left in the tube. The product is totally affordable because it will definitely last 4-5 months even after continuous usage.

Another thing which I noticed about this product is that my pores don’t feel clogged after using this sunscreen lotion. My face did sweat when I am in outdoors with this sunscreen lotion on my face. But the sweating amount is very less as compared to any other sunscreen lotion.

Pros:

  1. Gives a matte look.
  2. Non-sticky.
  3. Herbal formulation
  4. A broad-spectrum sunscreen with both UVA & UVB protection.
  5. Pores don’t feel clogged after applying.
  6. Leaves soft and supple skin.
  7. Totally affordable.
  8. Easily available.
  9. Hides imperfections.
  10. Travel-friendly.
  11. Skin does not get tan after using this sunscreen lotion.
  12. Mild pineapple fragrance.
  13. Does not make your skin to breakout.
  14. Goes a long way.
  15. Very small quantity is required for single usage.

Cons:

  1. Not appropriate for people with dry skin type.
  2. The sunscreen lotion does not blend easily into the skin if you use more than a required amount.
  3. Not suitable to use in winters.

Will I repurchase it?

Absolutely. Overall the product fulfilled all my expectations. I am definitely gonna give it another shot.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser With SPF 15 Review

Hi Gracies!

I have normal/combination skin type… during a whole year. But my skin tends to appear oily during monsoons. Thanks to the excess humidity in northern parts of India. For this reason, I have to buy skincare products specially made for oily skin type during this season. Read following posts:

Today I am going to give an honest review on Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser. I am using this moisturiser from last year. That is why I feel the urge to share my experience with all of you.

Price of the product: Rs. 349 for 115  ml

What the product claims:

DSCN3577

All-day moisturization. Lightweight, non-greasy formula keeps skin moisturised for 12 hours. Sun protection. UV SPF 15 sunscreen.

  • Won’t clog pores.
  • Alcohol-free
  • Allergy-tested
  • Fragrance-free

My experience about Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser SPF 15:

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturiser SPF 15 comes with a pump dispenser which makes this product convenient and hygienic to use. At first, I found the packaging of this product too cute. The pump dispenser of this product comes with a lock which makes it travel-friendly. You can carry it in your handbag without the fear of spilling.

DSCN3582

The product has a soft, creamy texture and no fragrance at all. People with a sensitive nose will love it. The consistency of this product is neither too creamy nor too flowy. The oil-free moisturiser blends into my skin very easily. I feel my skin moisturised for long 7-8 hours after applying it.

As the product states, a non-comedogenic product(a non-comedogenic product does not clog pores). My facial pores don’t feel clogged after using it. The texture is so light that I don’t really feel that I applied something on my face. I did not experience any breakout on my face since I am using this product.

DSCN3587Though the product has an SPF of 15 but it does not completely protect our skin from harmful UV rays. Visible sunrays contain UVA, UVB and UVC rays. UVA rays cause all types of skin damage like pigmentation, tanning, rashes, blemishes, fine lines and premature ageing. UVB rays cause sunburns and skin cancers. UVC rays don’t reach earth’s surface.

A product stating only SPF(Sun Protection Factor) protects our skin only from UVB rays and not UVA rays. We get protection from harmful UVA rays only with a sunscreen stating PA factor. So, you need to apply a sunscreen with an SPF and a PA factor after this oil-free moisturiser.

Pros:

  1. Blends easily in skin.
  2. Pocket-friendly.
  3. Travel-friendly.
  4. Doesn’t clog pores.
  5. Not allergic to skin.
  6. Lightweight on skin.
  7. Consistency is too good.
  8. An Oil-free moisturiser which is made from humectants. Humectants increase the water content of skin without making skin greasy.
  9. Amazing as a make-up base.

Cons:

  1. Does not contain PA factor. So you need to apply a sunscreen with both SPF and PA factors.
  2. The face does not look matte. T-zone looks a bit shiny(not greasy) after applying this moisturiser. People with normal skin type may find this moisturiser bit greasy.
  3. The moisturiser contains Parabens like Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben. Parabens are used as preservatives in cosmetic products.

DSCN3593

Will I repurchase it?

Yeah, definitely. I used this product in both seasons i.e. summers and monsoons. My face looked a bit shiny in summers though the shine goes away after some time. But in monsoons, I found this moisturiser extremely amazing.
