“W2” brand is new in the Indian market. That’s why most of the people are still unaware of the products from this brand. A few weeks ago, I shared my experience about W2 strawberry moisturiser with all of you.

This time, I am back with strawberry face wash from the same brand. So, that you get to know more about this brand and what are the pros & cons of this product.

What the product claims

My experience with the product

I bought this product from a local shop. Since I was satisfied with the strawberry moisturiser from the same brand. I thought of giving this face wash worth a try.

The tube of the product is quite decent with a flip top cap, which is also great for travel purpose. The fragrance of the product is so much amazing. Whenever I use this face wash, I feel like slathering fresh strawberries on my entire face.

The face wash has gel-like consistency and quite transparent in colour. One thing, I noticed about this product is that it lathers very less which is great for extremely dry, sensitive skin and also for women who have crossed the age of 40. Because as you get older, your skin tends to be more on the drier side.

Talking about its claims, it does nothing on the skin as mentioned on the product packaging. However, I like to tell you that face washes are meant to remain on the skin only for 1-2 minutes. Therefore, a face wash can not prevent your skin from getting damaged.

Pros

  1. Affordable product.
  2. Good for extremely dry, sensitive and ageing skin.
  3. Lathers very less.
  4. Amazing fragrance.
  5. Does not dry out the skin.

Cons

  1. Not easily available.
  2. Does nothing about its claims. But, I don’t mind about this fact. Because it cleanses my face pretty well.

Will I repurchase it?

Yes. The product is very decent and you will love it after every usage.

DIY Rose Oil: Recipe To Make It At Home

Everyone gets crazy for roses because of its undoubtedly pleasant fragrance. But, whenever used topically it also provides ultimate benefits to our skin.

I like to use roses in my beauty regime through multiple ways. Today, I want to share an amazing DIY recipe to make rose oil at home. It helps to keep my skin healthy, clear, flawless and reverses the ageing process. Let’s get started.

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml of coconut oil
  • 1 cup of dried rose petals.
  • 2 tsp of Vitamin E oil or 5 Vitamin E capsules.

Things you will need:

  • A big jar for preparation.
  • A small glass or plastic bottle to store prepared mixture.

Recipe:

Preparation of rose oil

  1. Pluck 15-20 organic roses from your garden and dry them in shade. If you dry rose petals in direct sunlight, it will burn them. The procedure of drying rose petals will take 4-5 days.
  2. After the rose petals are completely dried. Crush them with your hands or with the help of a blender.
  3. Put 1 cup of dried rose petals in a jar of 200 ml.
  4. Then add coconut oil into the jar. I used coconut oil as a carrier oil because it gets easily absorbed by the skin.
  5. Make sure that the jar is filled 3/4th with roses and 1/4th with coconut oil. You can increase or decrease the amount but keep the ratio same.
  6. Leave the jar in direct sunlight during daytime and at a cold, dark place during night-time. And mix the ingredients of the jar at least 2 times a day.
  7. Repeat this simple procedure up to 2 weeks at a minimum and up to 4 weeks at a maximum (if you want to intensify this oil).
  8. When the oil is ready, strain it by discarding the roses. But don’t throw them. You can use the discarded roses in your homemade face packs.
  9. Add Vitamin E oil to the prepared oil. Vitamin E oil will help your skin to slow down the ageing process.
  10. The prepared rose oil will be deep red in colour. I kept the mixture for 4 weeks to intensify it.

How to use rose oil:

  • For normal to dry skin – Use the required amount of rose oil at night-time all over your face & neck.
  • For oily to combination skin – Whenever you apply moisturiser at night-time, mix 3-4 drops of rose oil into it and apply it onto your face and neck.

17 Powerful Home Remedies You Must Try For Hair Growth (Part-2)

Home remedies are always effective and easily available. Such home remedies have no side-effects when topically applied on hair. In my previous post, I shared few of these remedies which are always a boon for our hair.

You can apply these home remedies on your man too if he is suffering from alopecia, commonly known as baldness.

Garlic

Garlic is enriched with sulphur and selenium which are the structural parts of our hair. Loss of sulphur and selenium present in the keratin bonds of our hair makes them very weak and more prone to fall.

Remove the peel of 10-12 garlic cloves and slice them into small pieces. Boil these pieces of cloves with 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 1 tablespoon olive oil for few minutes. Strain the oil by leaving residue aside. Gently massage your hair with this oil and leave it overnight after application.

Vitamin E oil

Vitamin E oil helps in repairing damaged hair follicles and building new tissues. It also brings backs the lost shine and improves the elasticity of our hair making them strong from the core.

It is easily available as a pure oil and as a capsule at the drugstores. Mix half teaspoon of Vitamin E oil with 2 teaspoons of almond oil. Applying this oil on the scalp and hair, followed by a gentle massage afterwards improves the blood circulation. Hence, improving the hair growth cycle.

Curry Leaves

Topical application of curry leaves elevates the hair growth process to a great extent. They strengthen our hair from the roots with every usage.

For this remedy, you can blend some curry leaves and mix it in your favourite hair mask. Massaging your scalp with oil made from curry leaves also help our hairs to grow. To make this oil, boil 2 handfuls of dried curry leaves with 200 ml of coconut oil. Adding 30 ml of castor oil to this mixture intensifies the oil.

Using dried curry leaves while making oil keeps the oil safe from getting mould (fungus).

Hibiscus

Hibiscus flowers nd leaves have always been known for its eloquent effects on our hair. It consists of Vitamin C, riboflavin, phosphorus and calcium to help our hair with the care it needs.

To make this home remedy, blend 3 hibiscus flowers and 5-6 hibiscus leaves to a smooth paste. Add 2-3 spoonfuls of curd to it according to your hair length. Apply this mixture onto your scalp along with hair and leave this on your hair for 30-45 minutes before going to wash.

Eggs

Eggs are packed with proteins, vitamins and essential fatty acids which make it a power-pack ingredient for our hair.

Mix one egg white with 1 spoon of olive oil. Whip this combination until it forms a smooth paste. Apply this paste on your hair and leave it for 45-60 minutes to get effective results.

Coconut Milk

Another home remedy which is great for our hair is coconut milk. Being packed with Vitamin B, C, E and minerals like iron, sodium, selenium, magnesium, phosphorus and calcium makes it a miracle product for our hair.

For this quick remedy, you need to apply coconut milk mixed with honey and castor oil on all of your hair and leave it for 60 minutes. Coconut milk is easily available at grocery stores. But if you like, you can make it by your own.

Sesame Oil

Sesame oil is also known as “Til ka tel” in Hindi, and it is well-known for its efficacy on our hair. It is used as a base oil in most of the herbal or ayurvedic oils which prove its worthiness for our hair.

Gentle massage with sesame oil helps blood circulation at the scalp resulting in hair growth.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera is another herbal plant which is known for promoting hair growth, treating the itchy scalp, strengthening and adding shine to our hair. It contains keratin (the protein our hairs are made of) which helps in improving the elasticity of hairs, prevents breakage and results in long luscious hair.

Squeeze out the gel from aloevera plant and mix it with olive oil. Leaving this mixture on your hair for 45-60 minutes will give you the length, you always desired.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is rich in emollients like oleic acid, palmitic acid and squalene. Emollients are the lubricants having nourishing and softening properties. It is also packed with Vitamin E to repair and restore damaged hair.

Heat 2-3 teaspoons of olive oil in a pan according to your hair length. Oil must be slightly warm, not striking hot. Do a gentle massage with this oil and leave it overnight on your hair.

Green Tea

Green tea suffers minimal processing, hence contains anti-oxidants to a very high level. According to a study, a cup of green tea contains anti-oxidants four times an apple. Anti-oxidants helps in detoxifying the harmful toxins out of our hair and encourages hair growth if applied topically.

Use green tea rinse after hair wash and leave it on your hair for 5-10 minutes. Then rinse your hair with cold water.

Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed oil, also known as “Alsi ka tel” is highly packed with omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin B-complex, C, E and biotin. All of these nutrients are helpful in keeping our hair strong, preventing split ends and promoting hair growth.

Do a gentle massage with warm flaxseed oil and leave it overnight on your hair for effectiveness.

Almond Oil

Almond oil is one of those home remedies which everyone swears by. It is high in Vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids and magnesium to help our hair grow. It is bit pricey but worth every penny you pay for.

Our hair is comprised of keratin bonds and sulphur acts as a cement to strengthen these keratin bonds. Onions being high in sulphur, nourish our hair.

For this quick remedy, apply onion juice onto the scalp with the help of cotton and leave it on your hair for 30-45 minutes. You can also mix some coconut oil to hydrate your hair. Onion juice dries out our hair. That’s why I recommend you to apply this juice only on your scalp.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is very much beneficial for hair thickening and hair growth. It is high in Ricinoleic acid (an essential amino acid required by our body) & Omega-6 and Omega-9 fatty acids (which can easily penetrate through the pores).

You will need to mix one part of castor oil with two parts of olive or almond oil. Apply this oil mixture on your scalp and full-length of hair. Massaging afterwards gently with your fingertips allows your blood to circulate on the scalp.

Castor oil is very much thick in consistency. Applying it solely on our hair weighs them down which leads to hair fall. This is the reason behind mixing it with any other hair-friendly oil. Organic and Black castor oil are the purest forms of this oil.

Lemon Juice & Neem Leaves

I am back with another review today. The product I am going to review today is Garnier Ultra Blends Soy Milk & Almonds Shampoo. It is also my current favourite nowadays.

This is the reason, I am super-excited to share my honest opinion with all of you. Without further ado, let’s get started.

What the product claims:

Garnier Ultra Blends is a complete hair care range with precious natural ingredients, finely selected for their known efficacy on hair and blended in paraben-free formulas. Discover our bespoke blends for your everyday hair needs.

Hair is mainly composed of proteins. When damaged hair loses its protein content and becomes weak. Our formula is a blend with Soy Milk & Almonds, known for their rich protein content. It intensely repairs and restores damaged hair. Hair feels incredibly soft with every wash.

My experience with the product:

I have used many shampoos from Garnier since my childhood but they always disappointed me with its results. Garnier Ultra Blends range has been over-hyped for a quite long time, and the credit goes to its effective advertisement and the main highlight of this range i.e. paraben-free.

Because my hair became very dry and rough after constant use of Himalaya Herbals Gentle Daily Care Protein Shampoo, I thought of giving this shampoo a try. 

The shampoo comes in a normal flip-top bottle imprinted with a cute design. But the bottle’s cap is little loose and I am not sure whether it is suitable for the purpose of travelling or not.

The product is white in colour and has thick creme like consistency. It lathers into very rich and moisturising foam.

It made my extremely dry and frizzy hair to very soft and manageable. All the claims of this shampoo are totally true. It does repair and restores my hair back, the formula is totally paraben-free and also contains natural extracts.

The shampoo is definitely a good buy for dry and frizzy hair and also a very suitable option for the winter season. Winters always leave my hair very dry and brittle and I was looking for a moisturising shampoo in this season. Thank god, I found this one.

Pros:

DIY: 2 Recipes To Make Rose Water At Home

Rose water is a very basic product which everyone uses in their skincare regime. No wonder, it is a magic potion for our skin.

Whether you have dry, sensitive, oily or combination skin; rose water will enhance your beauty in many different ways. Women are using this secret weapon as a beauty product from ages.

Although, rose water is not that much expensive to buy but you get very little amount of it. Drugstore bought rose water also contains preservatives. So, I always like to make a fresh batch of it without any preservatives.

The homemade rose water smells so amazing and I can swear by this. The shelf life of this homemade rose water is only 2-3 days but you can store it in your refrigerator up to 6 months.

Ingredients:

  • 250 ml of filtered water.
  • 8-10 fresh and organic rose flowers.

Things you will need:

  • A saucepan or frying pan.
  • A jar.
  • A serving spoon (for stirring).
  • A spray bottle or a normal bottle for storage.

 Recipe No. 1:

  1. Collect 8-10 fresh rose flowers from your garden. Make sure they are organic and free from any kind of preservative.
  2. Separate rose petals from the flowers and wash them with clean water. Place them in the saucepan.
  3. Now pour water over the petals, well enough to cover them. I always like to use filtered water in my DIY recipes just to keep my skin safe from any kind of chemical.
  4. Put the saucepan on the gas flame and keep the flame on simmer.
  5. After 4-5 minutes, roses will start to loose their colour and all the colour is getting transferred to the water.
  6. Initially, the water may seem of purple colour. You don’t need to worry about it.
  7. The moment water starts to show some colour. Off the gas flame and allow this mixture to cool down covering with a lid.
  8. After 30-45 minutes, you will notice that the mixture has changed its colour from purple to reddish brown.
  9. When the mixture is at room mixture. Strain this mixture while discarding the rose petals.
  10. Your homemade rose water is ready to use.

Recipe No. 2:

  1. Just after washing the rose petals with clean water. Collect them in a jar and fill it with 250 ml of filtered water.
  2. Keep this jar in direct sunlight during daytime. While at night, keep it in a dark place.
  3. Next morning, strain the mixture and discard the rose petals.
  4. Your homemade rose water is ready to use on the face.

Pure Roots is a very affordable cosmetic brand in India and it always proves its claims true to its consumers. So, without wasting any minute let’s hop on to the review.

Your skin will love this blend of Peach oil & Clarified butter along with Glycerine which leaves skin feeling healthy soft and smooth. This non-greasy formula is perfect for dry and rough skin and helps seal in moisture to keep your skin soft and glowing throughout the day.

My experience with the product:

The moisturiser comes in a cute white and pink coloured bottle. The packaging of the product is sturdy.

The moisturiser is thick in consistency and feels buttery soft when applied on the skin. It is very nicely fragranced and slightly pink in colour.

As the product claims that it is for all skin types, but it is a complete no-no for oily and combination skin people. The moisturiser is comedogenic in nature and may cause breakout on oily skin type.

My skin feels amazingly soft and supple after using this moisturiser. It gets absorbed into skin instantly and my skin does not feel sticky at all.

Definitely, it is a very good moisturiser for people with dry & sensitive skin type in winters.

Pros:

  2. Does not make skin sticky and greasy.
  3. Provides proper moisturization to skin.
  4.  A must have product in winters.
  5. Suitable for dry and sensitive skin people.

Cons:
